Day 2?

Hello Hello.  So sorry we haven't been keeping up to date on the blogging - Internet is either expensive or super slow if it's free.  To continue...

LONDON
London was awesome, although we only met 2 brits - weird.  On our arrival we were quite jet lagged but absolutely excited to be in the city. We found our hostel, dropped off our bags and went straight to Buckingham Palace which is a 15 minute walk from our hostel (did you know that the Queen lives there? Apparently she was home when we came to call). We mostly just wandered around, a little delusional from the lack of sleep. We then found an excellent Vietnamese restaurant (recommended by the Bible), and had Asian soup! Once checked in we took a well needed nap and then headed to a pub for some fish and chips. Yummmm. Without knowing what to do, we hung around the hostel and found the staff to be way cooler than the hostellers. We got to know each other and had a few drinks. Brilliant.

The next day, we decided to embark on a walking tour (it's FREE, tips accepted) which turned out to be very informative. We had a very animated guide who knew her history quite well (she was Brit 1 of 2). We really fell in love with the parks in London; Hyde Park is huge and gorgeous. Later we painfully made our way through the National Art Gallery (yes it's nice, but NOT after a walking tour - day 1 of tortured feet, and of course we were smart to walk back to the hostel! Ouch kabibble.) Again, we napped and then went to check out the Soho nightlife - went to about 4 bars and were 99% positive one of them was a gay bar. Next time we'll take a guide.

On the third day we met Brit 2 (Chloe), who was very cool and took us to the cheapest shopping outlets in London - total madness but so much fun. As the true Harry Potter fans that we are, we went to King's Cross to experience Platform 9 3/4 (pictures to follow). Later that night we went out for a warm and bitter British pint which was surprisingly delicious. We stayed up with really cool French guys until we could catch our 3am bus to the airport for our flight to PARIS!
